About

A game developer who bridges programming and art.

I'm Igor, a game developer from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, with a multidisciplinary background that spans both programming and art. I've built games across a wide range of genres β€” from educational titles to fast-paced action β€” and I like living at the point where technical implementation meets creative vision.

I currently work as a Unity programmer, building gameplay systems, enemy AI, tools and UI. I also model, animate and make pixel art, so I can take a feature from a rough idea all the way to something that looks and feels finished. My final-year project earned an honorable mention at SBGames.

What I do

01

Gameplay & AI

Enemy and boss AI with finite state machines, combat logic, and the game systems that make moment-to-moment play tick.

02

Systems & Tools

Save/load, event-driven quest systems, and clean, pattern-based architecture that other people can build on.

03

Art & Game Feel

UI/UX, shaders, particles and lighting β€” plus 3D modeling, animation and pixel art. I bridge the code and the visuals.

Journey

  1. 2024 – Present

Unity Programmer β€” Blue Gravity Studios

Main programmer on a 2D action-platformer: enemy and boss AI with finite state machines, a JSON save/load system, an event-driven quest system, and shaders, VFX and lighting. Also built the chat and moderation tools for a multiplayer WebGL world.

  2. 2022 – 2024

    Technical Coordinator β€” SuperGeeks

Led instructor training and revised the curriculum across the franchise, and mentored student projects β€” three won Best Project in a nationwide competition.

  3. 2019 – 2022

    Programming Instructor β€” SuperGeeks

Taught kids and teens programming logic (C++, C#) while building robotics prototypes, apps and games in Unity and Game Maker.

  4. 2021 – 2022

    Conecta Chronos β€” Freelance

Designed and developed an educational Unity game with a UFMG master's researcher β€” game design, 3D models and animation, and all the UI. Later exhibited to the public at a museum.

  5. 2015 – 2023

    Education β€” PUC Minas

B.Sc. in Digital Game Technology and a postgraduate specialization in Artificial Intelligence. My final-year project earned an honorable mention at SBGames.

Beyond the code

My path into games ran through teaching β€” years of explaining how things work to students sharpened how I approach design and problem-solving. Away from the engine, I'm usually drawing, modeling, or picking apart why a game feels the way it does.

Let's build something

I'm open to collaborations, gameplay and tools programming, and interesting problems. The fastest way to reach me is email.
